Can higher education institutions validate European Student Cards (ESCs) from another higher education institution?
Can higher education institutions validate European Student Cards (ESCs) from another higher education institution?
Yes. In fact, by joining the European Student Card, higher education institutions commit to recognising the ESCs issued by other higher education institutions and providing incoming ESC cardholders (students) on a mobility programme with access to the same services and quality of service as they would provide to their local students.
This “principle of reciprocity” is at the core of the ESC.
To facilitate the validation of ESCs, the ESC-Router provides an API endpoint and software development kits (SDK) tooling to help automatise the validation process.
